I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays. I’m back with a really quick review of a couple of Burt’s Bees products I’ve been loving lately. Seeing this is a brief review, if there’s anything else you would like to know, then please leave a comment ![]()
Burt’s Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme
2.0z/57g
RRP AUD$19.95/ US $9.00
100% Natural
My hands are constantly dry, so I always have a hand cream with me, and this is my favourite hand cream yet. It is a very thick, white cream that soaks into the skin relatively quickly, considering how thick it is. I prefer my hand creams to be thick, rather than thin lotions. It has a cherry scent, that reminds me of candy, I think people with either love or hate it. It doesn’t bother me at all. It’s packaged nicely in a glass jar, which is great if you want to reuse or recycle the jar. It may not be the best packaging for hygiene purposes, but I am the only one that uses it, so I don’t worry about it. Overall this rich cream is great for dry hands and would be good for those experiencing winter. The scent and packaging may not be for everyone, but this works great for me and is the best hand cream I’ve come across so far.
Ingredients: prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, water, beeswax, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, kaolin, fragrance, citrus grandis (grapefruit) fruit extract, tocopherol, non-fat dry milk, chondrus crispus (carrageenan) extract, glycerin, glycine soja (soybean) oil, stearic acid, glucose, sodium borate, sodium chloride, sodium benzoate, glucose oxidase, lactoperoxidase.
Burt’s Bees Citrus Facial Scrub
2.0z/57g
US $8.00
99.96% Natural
Like the hand cream, the facial scrub comes in a glass jar. It has a spicy scent, like pumpkin pie or fruit mince pie. This is a little different to scrubs I’ve used before; it has a moist, crumbly texture, which you scoop out and mix with water. I dampen my face, dry my hands and scoop a small amount of scrub out and mix with a few drops of water in the palm of my hand. I find the scrub to be perfect for me, not overly harsh and not so gentle it does nothing. If you have overly sensitive skin, I would be careful not to scrub too hard. My face feels refreshed and smooth after using this and it doesn’t leave my skin tight or dry. The only downside to this, is that it isn’t available in Australia, so I did have to order from eBay. But this is a great, effective scrub with a delicious scent.
Ingredients: glycerin, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) seed meal, avena sativa (oat) kernel flour, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel powder, rosa damascena (rose) flower oil, carya illinoensis (pecan) shell powder, citrus grandis (grapefruit) seed extract, myristica fragrans (nutmeg) fruit powder, eugenia caryophyllus (clove) flower powder, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel oil, tocopherol, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract, fragrance
I’ve been really enjoying these products and would highly recommend each of them. So far the only downside with Burt’s Bees is that; it’s about double the price in Australia compared to the US, and I’m having trouble finding US online stores that will ship Burt’s Bees internationally. Also, not all of the products shown on the US site are available in Aus, like the facial scrub. I have made an order with vitaminlife.com which I am waiting to receive, so hopefully I won’t have any troubles getting that into Aus.
Thanks,
Hayley

Iv’e been eyeing off that hand cream at Healthy Life for a while now…I might have to try it.
You definitely should!
I do like Burt’s Bees although I am hesitant to buy from them sometimes. Some of their products are good and then I worry about the others. The Almond Milk Hand Creme sounds nice, but their 6th ingredient is fragrance. I typically don’t buy any product that says “fragrance” because the company can put whatever chemicals they want in it and only list it as a fragrance. What do you think? Does fragrance bother you?
Thanks for sharing these products : )
The whole fragrance thing does annoy me, I think ‘oh just one iffy ingredient’, but it can really be a whole concoction of chemicals.
The product is 100% natural, so I want to assume they also used natural fragrances. But I guess we will never know.
I would like my products to be as natural as possible, but I can get lazy and let things slide sometimes, which I feel guilty about.
I really should be a bit more strict when it comes to ingredients in products.
I love this hand cream! I also really like their banana one too – it’s a bit creamier, so it’s easier to rub into my hands
I haven’t tried the banana one yet. I’m not the biggest banana fan, but I may give it a try once this one runs out
I think the hand cream texture is creamy and not waxy, unlike my prev.burt’s bees radiance night cream. It’s sooo waxy and STICKY so that you can even use it as a glue!-__-.. since that purchase,I’m kinda lazy to buy burt’s bees products. I have no handcream now, think this one worth a try. But that mysterious fragrance kinda hold me down. I’ll e-mail burt’s bees about this. Anyway,I’ve just sent an e-mail to couleur caramel about their liquid foundation”parfume/fragrance”source.Let’s see whether they’ll reply it or not!;)
Between this burt’s bees handcream and alba botanica unpetroleum jelly, which one works better for your hand?
It is really creamy considering it does have a wax base. It is frustrating when more natural brands don’t mention the fragrances they use.
I really hope they reply to you.
The unpetroleum jelly works well for lips and minor dry areas, but I think it would be too sticky for a hand cream, I do really love this Burt’s Bees hand cream
They haven’t replied me yet:/.. Only inspired wellbeing who replied me and said that they ship to Indonesia!Yay!:D *dancing* But unless couleur caramel told me the source of their fragrance so the only thing I can buy from CC products will be only their concealer.Since the liquid & cream foundation contain fragrance.Their lipstick, blush, eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner contain carmine. What is left for me to choose then?:D stick foundation maybe, but I prefer the non heavy coverage one.If I ship only 1 product,so the shipping cost isn’t worth it. If only they have moogoo products on their web as well. I’ve been eyeing moogoo!Just like this almond milk hand cream, anything with Moo pics on it remind me of milk texture,so fluffy and yummy..!:)
It’s great that they can ship to you. Hopefully they reply so you can order some more goodies. I haven’t tried any moogoo products, I have seen them in the health food shop near me though
I hope so!:) I’ve checked on CC web ingredients glossary section, they don’t mention their parfum/fragrance source. BUT,burt’s bees has mentioned on their web ingredients glossary section. So,fragrances that burt’s bees use are from essential oils. So,we can confidently using their products now!:)
Please do the review when you buy any
Happy new year!
Oh,lucky you!you can get the moogoo minus the shipping cost
